Lifelong Access is seeking Speech Language Pathologists to join ourgrowing team of early intervention specialists. In this position youwill work with children from birth to age 18 to complete assessments,and development and implement treatment plans. Our Speech LanguagePathologists (SLP) function as part of a transdisciplinary team oftherapists working with local on-site supervisors and management.Services provided are both clinic and community based. Job Type: Part-time/Full-Time
Primary responsibilities include:
Effectively carry a caseload with children ages birth to 18.Conduct initial and ongoing assessments, deliver speech and languageservices, and write treatment plans based on the results ofassessments that effectively target short- and long-term goals.Create necessary materials to support a variety of communicationneeds.Apply interventions to maximize performance in all areas of need.Work collaboratively with the families served including educatingparents on helpful therapy approaches and in-home strategies tofacilitate generalization of skills.Maintain professional documentation including progress reports andsession notes.Collaborate with medical professionals, colleagues, and families onthe development and implementation of communication tools andstrategies, and individualizing functional communication for eachpatient.Collaborate with a team of other Lifelong Access professionals,including Developmental Therapists, Social/Emotional therapists,Physical and Occupational Therapists, Board Certified BehaviorAnalysts, and Registered Behavior Technicians.Qualifications for this position include:
Masters degree in Speech Language PathologyActive Illinois Speech Language Pathology LicenseMinimum 1-2 years of related experienceExcellent knowledge of principles and practices of speech therapyFamiliarity with developmental milestones for speech and languageCurrent knowledge of treatment practices per discipline and a desireto learn and grow in the professionKnowledge of autism spectrum disorder, Applied Behavior Analysis,sensory and behavioral strategies and principlesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred knowledge or experience in feeding therapyPreferred knowledge in Augmentative Communication Devices, PECs, andother communication strategies specific to the autism spectrumPreferred credential in Early InterventionValid Illinois drivers license with safe driving record, with proofof automobile insuranceMust be able to successfully pass criminal, DCFS, safe drivingbackground check, TB test and drug screenPhysical Requirements:
