As a Field Services Site Manager, need to lead all on-site activities forlarge/complex project site work to assure cost-effective execution ofproject deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, qualitystandards, schedule, and safety requirements during the start-up,construction and/or erection, and commissioning phase.This role requires extensive travel (80%)This position reports toService ManagerYour responsibilities
Plans project on-site activities with Project Manager including necessarylocal resources, equipment and milestonesCoordinates agreement between customer and external resources on constructiontargets, health and safety requirements, site organization and policyResponsible, from receiving the assigned site area from the customer orProject Manager to handing over to the end customer on completion day, forcoordinating all on-site activities to ensure the successful execution ofstart-up, construction, erection, testing and commissioning activitiesin alignment with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule,and safety requirementsServes as a project representative by building and maintaining effectiverelationships with customers as well as other local organizations such asauthorities, banks, and suppliers to ensure their active support of fieldactivitiesEnsures detailed and up-to-date construction Health & Safety (H&S)plan is in place in respect of each work package, compliant with the ABBH&S plan. Ensures all on-site resources are properly trained on companyhealth, safety and environment policy and proactively promotes health andsafety considerations to project partners throughout the project. Empowered tosuspend any activities on site (be it by ABB personnel or bysubcontractors) in case of HSE violation and, if a situation arises,takes the necessary steps to ensure that ABB employees and other persons whomay be present are not put at riskEnsures correct handling, storage and installation of ABB-deliveredequipment, coordinating on-site storage as well as shipment logistics tosecure timely site delivery of equipment and materialManages the sub-contractors on site hired by ABB to ensure necessary qualityand progress achieved to meet delivery date and agreed standardsControls project cost for the project site work, monitors actual spendagainst forecasts, and estimates final cost for the same. Manages the pettycash and has delegated authority for local purchasing within agreed limitsEnsures all documentation is modified and updated as necessary, the documenthandling system is maintained, and latest revisions are used for theconstruction work on siteEnsures (with HR support) that the area of responsibility is properlyorganized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and developsdirect and indirect reports within HR policies. Coordinates localaccommodation, site facilities, office equipment, etc.Your background
