Schedule Weekly Hours:30 What does an Orthopedic RN do:Provide care for patients with fractures, joint replacements, major orminor trauma. 24-bed inpatient medical/surgical unit Patient care teamsare composed of RNs, CNAs, HUCs and Orthopedic techs What will thisposition look like: .75 (30 hours/week) 12-hour shifts Days/Nights(630a-700p, 630p-700a) Every third weekend and holiday What will youget: Opportunities for growth with our Career Development CenterStarting wage for new grad: \$36.00 Shift differentials: Night shift\$4.00, Weekend \$3.00 Tuition Investment for furthering education Gainexperience in a Level 2 trauma hospital Gundersen Health System Hospitaland Clinics comprises 7 hospitals and 33 clinics. Job Description: The registered nurse (RN)focuses on the health and wellness of individuals, families andpopulations in collaboration with other health care professionals byincorporating evidence-based practice in the management of acuteillness, chronic disease, disability, and end-of-life care. The RNutilizes the nursing process and aligns practice with organizationalpolicies, professional nursing standards and regulatory practice acts.Major Responsibilities: 1.Assessment: Systematically and holisticallyassesses the patient\'s physiological, emotional, sociocultural,spiritual, and financial status while considering lifestyle preferencesand learning needs. 2. Planning: Collaborates with patients, families,and health care professionals to develop a patient-centered plan of careto promote health and optimize wellness. 3. Intervention: Providescompetent and innovative patient care and education based on patientcomplexity, acuity, and nursing judgment within a culture of caring andsafety. 4. Documentation: Documents nursing assessment, planning,interventions, implementation, and patient/family response. 5.Evaluation: Determines patient\'s progress toward achieving goal(s), andrevises plan of care in collaboration with patient/family as needed. 6.Delegation and Supervision: The RN delegates, supervises and evaluatesthe effectiveness of tasks performed by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN)or Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) who have the knowledge and skillto perform the task, taking into consideration the following: scope ofpractice training competence population served experience policies andprocedures 7.
