Department: Specimen ProcessingHours per week: 40, eligible for benefitsShift: Evening and Night. Rotating weekends and holidays as needed. Positionwill oversee evening shift and night shift operations. A specific workingschedule will be determined by section needs.
Qualifications
EDUCATION - Associate's Degree or equivalentEXPERIENCE - Three years clinical laboratory experience required.EQUIVALENCY - Professional experience, beyond requirements, in a relatedfield may substitute for an associate degree on a year-to-year basis.CERTIFICATION(S) - MLA (ASCP), MLT (ASCP), or equivalentcertification preferred.

Assigns and reviews work,provides work instruction (OTJ or formal training) and develops teammembers. Evaluates performance of team members, providing continuousfeedback. Manages discipline and performance issues; assists with hiring andfiring team members. Identifies resource needs and develops recommendationsfor meeting needs.Participates in leadership activities for department, contributing to theachievement of goals and objectives. Supports customer service standards andhandles operational and customer service escalations for section. Serves as achampion of organizational culture, influencing culture change to supportsection objectives.Primary resource for technical and clinical expertise in lab section and aclinical consultant to care providers, involving manager/sectionsupervisor, pathol gist or medical director when indicated.Participates in the support and monitoring of compliance with all regulatoryagencies and federally funded programs, productivity analysis,quality/performance improvement and patient/employee safety; ensurescompliance against federal, state, and local regulations.Responsible for the coordination and/or oversight of section specificprograms/projects/initiatives as defined by leadership.Consciously works to minimize errors and takes responsibility for correctingand documenting errors in a timely manner.Accurately prepares specimens for distribution and analysis according tolaboratory procedures.
