　　The Role

　　Come join our team as a Specialty Services Engineering Intern. You will be an active member of STERIS Life Sciences supporting the Field Service Engineering Team. You will be gaining knowledge by working under the guidance of STERIS engineers. This internship will allow you to complete valuable engineering work developing and building fundamental engineering skills. This work will contribute to the growth of the department and provide a positive impact to our customers in the Life Sciences industry.

　　Key Internship Information:

　　Paid Internship

　　Target start date is May 20th, 2024 and end date is August 9th, 2024

　　Full-Time (40 hours) - This is a full-time internship Monday-Friday

　　Location - This is a hybrid role and requires interns to work weekly at our Mentor, Ohio facility

　　What You Will Do

　　Learn how the department operates and the process of starting and completing a qualification document.

　　Responsible for submitting and requesting necessary documents for qualification documentation completion - Customer Information Forms (CIFs), Executable Books, Turnover Package requests etc.

　　Learn the similarities and differences between SAT (Site Acceptance Test)-IQOQ (Installation Qualification/Operation Qualification)-cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice)- In house documents.

　　Assist with IQOQ/SAT Qualification Documents Authoring and support engineers, as necessary, with document completion.

　　Assist with maintenance of the IQOQ/SAT Database and Master Files (make updates as provided by the engineers; provide suggestions for improvement).

　　Learn the basics on loading and simulating Allen-Bradley and Siemens programs.

　　Learn the process of reviewing, evaluating, and investigating the out of tolerance OOT (Out of Tolerance) Calibration reports .

　　Participate in the new product development process assuring that all Service requirements are completed prior to product release.

　　Help implement processes and procedures to improve qualification document efficiency and quality.

　　Follow industry codes, standards, and recommendations.

　　Work as a collaborative team member in the Service Engineering team projects .

　　What You Need To Be Successful

　　​​​​​Education: Junior/3rd year or above in an engineering program - Mechanical, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering preferred

　　PLC experience (course work) preferred (Allen-Bradley and Siemens).

　　Proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Access Database (expert level preferred) and PowerPoint.

　　Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and interpret a variety of technical data and documents.

　　Strong organization, planning and analytical skills.

　　Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of employees, as well as Customers and other external contacts.
