BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician for our Cardiology teams at our Queens and Midtown, New York hospitals.

　　Schedule: Tuesday and Wednesday in our Queens location and Thursday and Friday in our Midtown location from 8:30am to 6:30pm.

　　This position is eligible for qualified candidates with a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000.

　　Pay: $26.50 - $51.00 / hour

　　This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through CareerTrax leveling system .

　　* Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience*

　　We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.

　　*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

　　For example:

　　Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.50 Shift Differential

　　Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $6.00 Shift Differential

　　Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.50 Shift Differential

　　As an Cardiolgy Technician, you will:

　　Start appointments and take a full patient history including obtaining vitals such as temperatureheart rate, respiratoryrateand blood pressure.

　　Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.

　　Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heartand respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.

　　Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.

　　Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.

　　Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.

　　Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.

　　Induce,monitorand recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment for procedures.

　　Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.

Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours. Newly hired associates will receive a pro-rated amount of any CE benefit for which they are eligible.
