The Test Engineer is responsible for performing the integration and/or test of all components, ensuring electrical and physical compatibility to meet program technical, schedule and cost objectives. In support of system design activities, The Test Engineer is responsible for test and/or integration of COTS-based electromechanical systems from the system design phase through development, documentation, installation and commissioning of the completed system. Integration responsibilities may include design, develop and implement integration plans for procedures for hardware, software, and facilities. Responsible for the physical and electrical compatibility of functional interfaces and first article product integration, ensuring seamless interface between the design and production of systems.
Testing responsibilities may include analyzes requirements for testability issues. Develops and implements both hardware and software system level test programs, plans, specifications, procedures and customer acceptance. Plans and leads test working groups, test readiness reviews. Conducts testability and producibility analyses and reviews.
Essential Functions:
Develop, maintain test procedures
Perform Root Cause Analysis on failures
Perform engineering level debug on the product in test labs
Develop, maintain Test Bill-of-Process and Work Instructions
Reoccuring engineering related Test Rediness Reviews
Maintain Government/Customer Furnished Equipment
Manage tools and test equipment to support the production floor
Test Machine Maintenance and repair
Failure trend analysis
Out-of-Tolerance reporting for test equipment
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Working in a lab environment on a daily basis
Able to lift up to 40 lbs
Regular overtime to complete the work
Working in high stress environments from time to time
Ability to adapt at a moments notice to changing directions based on the needs of the production floor.
