Job Description:
Milwaukee Tool currently seeking for a Sourcing Group Manager to join our team at our Milwaukee, WI or remote. In this role, the Sourcing Group Manager will lead 1 or 2 Sourcing managers to manage Outsourced products and report to the VP of Procurement.
As the leader of this team, you will be responsible for developing/managing a strong partnership with our business unit and ensuring sourcing initiatives and projects are well aligned with the BU’s goals and strategic priorities. This Sourcing Group Manager will be responsible for prioritizing strategic initiatives, developing, and executing Sourcing strategies to ensure Milwaukee Tool is maximizing the value by driving to the lowest total cost of ownership, support NPD, increasing the quality-of-service delivery, improving commercial terms, minimizing supply chain risks, ensuring all productivity and sourcing metrics are met and support our corporate and organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement global sourcing strategy to drive world class sourcing performance, align corporate commodities and strategy to objectives - for sustaining production, new product development & introduction, and research & development activities.
Support NPD and drive Early Supplier Involvement in terms of improvement in Problem-Solving abilities and response time, increase in the Speed of New Product Development, reduce cost/lead-time. Strong collaboration with suppliers and internal cross functional teams for betterment of production
Lead a team to create and maintain strategies based on technology needs and market conditions. Lead Sourcing Managers in the development of key strategic supplier relationships to leverage supplier technology capabilities to advance technology in Milwaukee Tool’s new products.
Leading supplier contract negotiations, handle different negotiation styles, tactics, and scenarios, and to reach a mutually beneficial agreement that meets the expectations and requirements of both parties.
Partner with key stakeholders to resolve unique challenges and provide subject matter expertise in strategic sourcing and category management to achieve goals and improve performance.
Proactively give strategic guidance to the business based on a deep understanding of business needs and analyses of data and trends.
Develop and lead a high performing team that can drive create and execute long and short-term initiatives in support of the company objective.
Develop benchmarks and balanced scorecards to drive operational performance and to drive continuous improvement, drive improvements to supplier performance including quality, on-time delivery, inventory management, cost, and payable terms.
Create and manage strategic supplier partnerships to ensure continuous performance expectations are met and year over year productivity targets are achieved by conducting proper supplier management techniques, Conducts and leads business reviews with key suppliers.
Develop and implement long-term commodity strategies to lower total cost of ownership (TCO) and offer world class customer service to key stakeholders and Make vs. Buy analysis.
Set goals and KPIs for the team, provide a compelling vision and motivating work environment. Achieve annual organizational objectives through cost reduction, cost avoidance, revenue and margin improvement, and risk mitigation.
Coach, develop, hire and motivate and retain a talented team of professionals, foster a culture of continuous improvement, transparency and performance.
Leverage business acumen and functional expertise to contribute to the strategic direction of the business unit. Leverage strong project and change management skills to drive continuous improvements for the Souring initiatives. Introduce innovative ideas for the commodity and drive continuous improvements for the product.
Develop and execute a negotiation strategy, based on their research, objectives, and alternatives.
Build and leverage relationships and networks across the organization. Use personal influence skills to communicate and collaborate with different stakeholders, such as suppliers, customers, internal departments, and senior management.
Provide analysis for make versus buy outsourcing/insourcing decisions.
Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, and the Category Managers to identify new opportunities for Strategic Sourcing, Value Engineering, and Negotiation projects and process improvement.
Establish tight alignment with Supply Chain Materials Managers and Buyer/Planners to ensure supply of materials, stocking program to manufacturing sites supports production volumes and business targets.
Qualifications:
Have earned bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management or engineering related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Have 8+ years sourcing experience with considerable understanding of procurement concepts, principles and at least 6+ years of commodity management and Strategic Sourcing experience.
Resin/Metal Commodity direct experience is preferred and developing & executing Sourcing strategy and category leadership role.
Have strong negotiation skills and strategic sourcing and Analytical skills.
Proven leadership capability in creating and leading a high performing team.
Show excellence in analytical, fact-based problem solving, strong sense of Urgency.
Have project management skills to develop plans, action steps and timetables and meet deadlines.
Demonstrate strategic decision-making skills regarding business planning processes, make/buy decisions, and similar business-related concerns.
Strong collaboration, influencing skills and communication skills across all organizational levels, both internally and within supplier organizations.
Exhibit a high degree of autonomy with the ability to work effectively in a team environment to pull disparate pieces together across the organization and "get things done".
Ability to partner with department leaders to identify, create, and plan capabilities necessary to meet short and long-term business needs.
Demonstrate a continuous improvement ethos; ability to identify areas of opportunity and positively influence business decisions.
Strong track record of driving results and savings/ cost reduction and execute projects on time
Demonstrated experience in data mining to help make fact based, data driven decisions
Familiar with ERP systems
