This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, marketing, and implementation of agency wellness activities and training for all division employees. The wellness coordinator must have an active interest in the well-being of all employees. The coordinator must have a deep knowledge of existing and emerging physical and mental health trends and be able to make recommendations to command staff for new and additional wellness options for employees.
Minimum Qualifications
Three (3) years* of professional level experience with the following:
Proven ability to work with law enforcement personnel and in a highly structured command system.
Ability to present to group of any size.
Ability to be certified as canine therapy handler.
Ability to travel statewide, with overnight stays.
Valid driver‘s license
Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities.
*A bachelor‘s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Nutrition, Education, Social Services, or a similar wellness field of study may be substituted for one (1) year of professional level experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification as a canine therapy handler
Critical Incident Stress Debriefing certification
Bachelor‘s or an advanced degree in Human Services, Psychology, Nutrition, Education, Social Services, or a similar wellness field of study.
Physical Requirements
Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others and moving and transporting light objects frequently. Even through the weights being moved and transported may be a negligible amount, a job in this category may require positioning self to move to a significant degree or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods.
