12924BRDepartment Name:HSP Ultrasound Location:Meriter Hospital Job Description:The student sonographer must be currently enrolled in an accredited sonography program, and have passed both the physics and Abdomen or OB/GYN board exams. Student sonographers are responsible for performing a wide variety of routine and complex ultrasound procedures under the indirect supervision of a licensed sonographer. Student sonographers will only be expected to perform exams for which they have received training and instruction.
*If at any point the student sonographer withdraws from or is not in good standing in the sonography program, their employment will be terminated.

Required Qualifications:
Enrolled in an accredited sonography program and remains in good standing.
1 year of direct patient/health care experience (accredited program may count as experience)
Registered by RDMS in Physics and one of the following: Abdomen, OB/GYN
Ability to recognize normal and abnormal findings
Demonstration of clear and concise verbal and communication skills
Excellent Communication and organizational skills.
Self-motivated & directed with regard to increasing level of understanding and knowledge.
