About the Site
The Walnut Bend Energy Center is a 100 MW-AC solar powered generationfacility located in Lee County AR, utilizing TMEIC inverters, ATItrackers, and JA modules, with an attached substation.
Position Overview
As a Solar Technician, you will be responsible for assisting inoperating and maintaining the facility.
Responsibilities
Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on all sitesolar, substation, and associated equipmentPerform vegetation management, up to operating large equipment tomaintain the site per the vegetation management plan.Troubleshoot complicated electrical, mechanical, and hydraulicproblems including: Inverter faults, Tracker faults, networkcommunications, ground faults, collection issues, substation issues,and general site performance issues.Understand electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic functions of allcomponents of solar site and associated equipment.Conduct site maintenance daily, wearing all required safetyequipment, to inspect, maintain, and repair equipment.The Solar Technician will work a schedule of 7:00am - 3:30pmMonday-Friday (40 hours) and will be subject to scheduled andunscheduled overtime and potential night work. The work schedulewill vary during the peak maintenance periods.Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safework environmentRequired Skills
High School Diploma or EquivalentOne (1) year technical experience (electrical, etc.) and/ortechnical education.Willing to travel up to 30% of the time.Willing to work nights during scheduled and unscheduled maintenanceactivitiesMust be able to work outdoors in inclement weatherAbility to climb / work safely from a portable step ladderAbility to understand directions, follow procedures, and completetasks with minimal oversightEffective communication skills both written and verbalAbility to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).Valid driver\'s license and acceptable driving record.Preferred Education and/or Work Experience
Experience with PV maintenance, including DC systems, AC mediumvoltage systems, and network communications and monitoringExperience in an industrial environment dealing with machine repairand maintenance (Manufacturing, Automotive, Food Processing,Automation, Facilities) as a maintenance technician, electrician,electronic tech, field engineer or technician, service tech, etc.Experience with the operation of various SCADA systemsSkilled in the use of testing equipment and tools such asThermographic Electrical Inspection, I-V Curve Tracing, Meggers, andGround Fault DetectionStrong Analytical and Diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot andcorrect problems foundKnowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and standard practicesAbility to read and understand electrical single-line and three-linediagrams / schematicsProficiency with MS Office suiteIndividuals receiving conditional offers of employment will be subjectto drug testing and must receive a negative result to begin working forthe company.
