The Journal team at Apple is looking for a talented engineering manager to join a small team of highly skilled engineers to build world class applications across all of Apple’s platforms. We’re looking for a passionate, creative, highly customer-focused, technical manager to drive the Journal experience.
Key Qualifications
2+ years of experience managing iOS engineering teams
Experience successfully shipping large-scale iOS applications
Expertise developing apps with UIKit, SwiftUI, and other frameworks
Deep understanding of modern software development methodologies, architecture, and design
Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and communications skills
Charismatic leader capable of inspiring your team and others to action
Open-minded with strong collaboration skills
Description
The Journal engineering team is seeking an experienced manager to lead a talented team of engineers developing exciting new features that positively impact our users. In this role, you’ll have the rare & rewarding opportunity to help craft a product that improves and enhances the lives of everyone who uses Apple products. This position requires deep knowledge of Cocoa and UIKit/SwiftUI. You must be comfortable with rapidly evolving designs and requirements, and have excellent interpersonal skills. Throughout the process, you will work collaboratively with our world-class engineering teams, partner with designers, and coordinate with other teams at Apple, including iOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS teams. You’ll be expected to push the envelope on innovation. To ship compelling designs at the very edge of what’s technically possible. To challenge your engineers, peers, manager, and various senior org leaders to push things forward. You’ll have a voice in the room as critical decisions are made that will affect, impact, and improve the day-to-day lives of countless individuals.
Education & Experience
BS in CS/CE or equivalent work experience

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $183,400.00 and $316,900.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
