  Purpose:

  Assist in the preparation of project deliverables and contractdocuments in accordance with the company design standards and clientrequirements.Key Responsibilities:

  Leadership and Direction:

  Perform work under moderate supervision requiring the need toexercise independent judgement and discretion on an occasionalbasis.At the Operational and Company Level:

  Work closely with more senior staff members to learn and assist indesign work.Do the Work:

  Under supervision, convert all applicable information intoelectronically generated drawings and project documents withaccuracy, neatness, and speed.Perform horizontal computations for boundary surveys and analyses offield location and record information to determine property lines.Draft final house location surveys from survey crew field notes andpersonal field measurements of building improvements.Compute horizontal positions of planned buildings, streets, curbs,etc. for stakeouts.Check record plats for completeness and accuracy prior to submittingfor review.Submit plots to county for review.Gain a thorough knowledge of ALTA Land Title Surveys, topographicsurveys, boundary surveys, residential and commercial constructionstakeout procedures, and practices.Perform a variety of complex computations for traverse, recordplats, boundary surveys, construction stakeouts, horizontal control,etc.Complete land development related surveys as well as boundarysurveys, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, construction layout, andsubdivision (traditional land development work).Success Metrics and Competencies:

  High school diploma or GED required, associates degree in survey,geography, architecture or civil engineering preferred.Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of survey and/or CAD experiencein the land development/land survey industry.Knowledge of basic design concepts and technical calculations.Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures.Surveyor-In-Training certificate preferred.Relevant survey licensure a plus.Must be proficient with Carlson and/or Civil 3D.Physical Demands and Working Environment:

  Partly indoor professional office environment which may includebright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.Mobility around an office environment.Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such ascomputers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.Partly outdoor work environment which may include adverse weatherconditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potentialhazards.Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending,crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of requiredPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE).Frequent and prolonged use of data collection equipment and/ordrones, necessitating walking the assigned stud area to completedata collection over the course of several hours.Primarily local travel during the business day, although someout-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according tothe needs of the business.Note: While this job description is intended to be an accuratereflection of the job requirements, it is not designed to cover orcontain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties orresponsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.Management reserves the right to modify, add, or remove duties fromparticular jobs and to assign other duties as necessary at any time withor without notice.
