She/he willwork independently and contribute to the immediate team and to otherteams across business. She/he will Lead design discussion in a limitedmanner. Responsibilities Be responsible for defining, developing, andevolving software in a fast paced agile team of 4-7, and agiledevelopment environment using the latest software developmenttechnologies and infrastructure Work with a cross functional team ofengineers, scientists and applications experts to translate high levelMR compute needs that demand new computer capabilities intocomponent-level requirements Plan and perform integration activities atcomponent, sub-system and system levels. Document designs andverification activities; perform component & subsystem levelverifications, participate in system level verifications and validationsas necessary. Keep abreast of Linux Service Pak releases, recommendadoption and do the adoption Assist in hardware selection for EoLreplacement of alternative modules and for Next Gen HW Be interface toroot case issues with OS partners (SUSE), FW and HW teams Facilitateperformance issues triage and resolution when spanning HW, FW and OSmodules or settings Augment OS RPM packaging and install scripts. DoDiags development augmenting what comes from IHV and/or ISV.Implementing Security and Serviceability changes at Compute layer. Testautomation development for Diags/ SW packages/Linux SP releases.Understand research and industry trends in the area of Compute,containers, virtual machines, cyber security, Linux OS and packingtechnologies Work with product line leaders and architects to developmulti generation software technology plans Drive increased efficiencyacross the teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging product andtechnology reuse Support process improvements which guide thedevelopment, sustaining & support activities Understand performanceparameters and assess application performance Proactively shareinformation across the team, to the right audience with the appropriatelevel of detail and timeliness Required Qualifications: Bachelor\'sDegree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or ComputerEngineering with minimum years of experience 10+ years Experience withobject oriented and modular Linux OS programming and maintaininginfrastructure on X86 systems Experience in Linux software packaging,install technologies and various scripting tools such as Bash, PythonWorking knowledge in configuration management tools such as GitTechnical...
