About the role/team:

　　Robinhood's Developer Infrastructure organization’s goal is to increase the efficiency, velocity, reliability, and scalability of Robinhood Engineering! 

　　We help software developers write code. We speed up getting code out of a software developer's head and into customers’ hands safely. We drive consistency across platforms and toolchains. We enable product software developers to focus completely on what code to write rather than how to write that code. We find, fix, and prevent issues during the development cycle rather than in production.

　　We see software development and engineering as a whole and drive systemic improvements to our development process and culture. We sweep up and janitor anything which is generally painful. We are the last line of defense if something is wrong in engineering.

　　Developers and managers supporting RH’s operations gain a unique look into how the U.S. financial systems work on the inside and strengthen their financial-domain knowledge. We strive for a high standard of engineering quality while solving unique scalability challenges.  These Software Development Managers support high-priority initiatives.

What we expect you’ll do day-to-day:

Proactively identify and support optimizations and improvements to software development and engineering productivity and experience. Design large scale systems, making the right tradeoffs for risk and long-term maintainability. Provide mentorship to junior developers in the team. Lead organization-wide collaboration for the team.

About you:

You’ve managed an engineering productivity or developer experience team previously. Experience leading a medium to large size team of developers. A focus on software development and engineering craftsmanship; testing, static analysis, continuous integration, delivery, and deployment. Understanding of what metrics to drive to increase engineering velocity and quality. Passion for mentoring junior developers and improving engineering craftsmanship. Eagerness to learn and use new technologies and share with the team. Experience with Monorepos and modern build systems (ie Bazel, Buck, Pants).
