　　As a Software Development Manager (SDM) for Retail Music Experience team, you would be managing a talented team of engineers building and scaling large scale systems allowing customers to discover and engage with Amazon Music on Amazon. You are expected to be a leader in technology, diving deep into problems you own, demonstrate excellent judgement in decision making, mentoring, and growing talent. You should be able to inspire people, motivate the team, drive the culture of innovation, implement engineering best practices, and deliver results. You will define technical and business strategy that generate a positive experience to customers who consume music from different interfaces such as Amazon Website, mobile Apps, Kindle, Fire TV and web clients. You should be an engineering leader in driving Operational Excellence by defining strategies, influencing roadmaps and raising the bar for our customers. As an engineering leader, you would be working directly with Music product management and various engineering leaders across Amazon to influence, design and deliver the organizational goals.

　　Basic Qualifications

　　7+ years of engineering experience

　　3+ years of engineering team management experience

　　8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience

　　Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

　　Experience partnering with product or program management teams

　　Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

　　Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
