Description

　　Lead the full-stack engineering for a rapidly growing and strategic business within the Alexa Smart Home organization and help to connect the long-tail of devices to Alexa.

　　The Alexa Connect Kit (ACK) is a managed service for device makers that helps makers of unconnected devices create high-quality, connected smart home devices quickly and easily. ACK combines managed hardware modules and FW SDK's with SaaS to simplify IoT development on behalf of device makers.

　　In this role you'll lead and develop an ACK engineering team -- spanning hardware, firmware, APIs, SDKs, apps, and operations -- to deliver every aspect of the product. As a Software Development Manager you'll partner with Product Managers, senior executives and engineers, Business Development, and customers themselves to help craft the technical vision and execution mechanisms for the team while delivering solutions to simplify the manufacturing processes for IoT device makers.

　　Key job responsibilities

　　Experience in managing a dynamic and full-stack team including Quality Assurance Engineer's and Support Engineers.

　　Experience with device firmware, IoT device SDK's or similar experience preferred.

　　Basic Qualifications

　　7+ years of engineering experience

　　3+ years of engineering team management experience

　　8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience

　　Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

　　Experience partnering with product or program management teams

　　Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

　　Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
