Senior Accountant

A client of ours is looking for a Senior Accountant for a contract role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing key accounting functions, including revenue and expense tracking, account reconciliation, month-end close, journal entries, and account analysis. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities of Senior Accountant

Oversee the recording and tracking of revenue and expense transactions. Ensure that all entries are accurate and timely.

Perform regular reconciliations of all general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving any discrepancies.

Analyze financial data, providing insightful reports and recommendations to support decision-making.

Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and completed on time.

Prepare and post accurate journal entries in the general ledger, including accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications.

Requirements

Skills/Qualifications of Senior Accountant

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.

5+ years of senior accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting or similar role.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Excellent attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
