Seeking an experienced engineering manger to lead and manage an engineering teamsupporting C5ISR Modernization. The team will consist of engineers, IT/Cybersecurity personnel, CAD designers, and other technical staff supporting RDT&E, systems engineering, integration, test and modernization tasking for C5ISR, Enterprise services, IT systems, and Cybersecurity. Looking for individual that is highly effective communication skills, including with DoD customer, and an exceptional degree of creativity and resourcefulness to develop highly advanced concepts.
Qualifications: Fifteenyears related experience with C5ISR systems technologies including (but not limited to):
IT Systems, Cloud solutions, enterprise architectures, and Cybersecurity
Tactical communications and waveforms
Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) aerial relay solutions
High altitude payloads, and deployable communication kits
Network analytics and optimization
Network and system hardening
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
Primary responsibilities include:
Overall Duties. Responsible for staffing, coordination with project/program managers, assignment of resources, people management, engineering technical oversight, compliance with company processes, ensuring quality of technical deliverables, and supporting customer leadership with engineering expertise and resource planning.
Department Staffing. Work with contract managers and customers to identify current and future required engineering and technical skills to support requirements. Work with recruiting to attract and hire personnel with required experience, capabilities, education, and certifications. Maintain technical staff capable of fulfilling all contract requirements.
Resource Management. Coordinate with project/program managers to assemble engineering teams to support tasking. Ensure personnel are appropriately trained/mentored to accomplish engineering requirements. Maintain good communications throughout the department and with other SDIO departments, as well as with the SDIO North Engineering Manager. Engage in people management activities such as training, development, mentoring, and discipline.
Technical Oversight. Oversee department technical performance by ensuring compliance with company processes and quality of technical deliverables. Ensure development of engineering products and solutions that meet customer cost, schedule, and technical requirements. Identify improvements in engineering and production processes, tools, and training that can offer increased efficiency, responsiveness, and product quality. Work with IS Chief Engineer to comply with company policy, respond to company data calls, implement engineering process improvements, share resources across the sector, and support new business capture activities.
Customer Interface. Engage directly with customers to define task requirements, develop cost estimates, agree on task schedules, identify and mitigate task risks, share subject matter expertise, and coordinate throughout engineering effort to meet sponsor /end user requirements.
This a is highly visible role answerable to multiple managers and customers, in a dynamic, quick reaction environment, requiring versatility and adaptability.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Minimum 15 years systems engineering, 10 years IT/Cyber design
Minimum 5 years program technical leadership
Active Top Security Clearance. Eligible TS/SCI
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Active duty and/or support of Military/Special Operations Forces operational needs
Knowledge of tactical implementations of IT systems
IT and Cybersecurity certifications
Advanced degrees
This position is contingent hire in 4Q 2022 for contract start date anticipated for December 2022.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $143000 - $243100
