　　Summary of Duties:

　　Under general supervision, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) Program Assistant supports low-income communities in healthy eating and active living through education, policy, system, and environmental changes that make health more accessible to all. The SNAP-Ed Program Assistant is primarily responsible for preparing and facilitating nutrition education activities with youth and adults in King County settings which may include schools, community gardens, food banks, affordable housing, and farmers markets. In addition to coordinating, preparing for, and conducting nutrition education activities, the assistant is also expected to attend regular staff meetings (virtual or in person), complete records, and assist with organizing and transporting program supplies.

　　Required Qualifications:

　　A Bachelor's degree OR equivalent education/experience.

　　• Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills with ability to communicate effectively using oral, written, and listening skills.

　　• Demonstrated knowledge of MS Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) Adobe Acrobat and the ability to adapt to new technologies and techniques.

　　• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within targeted counties.

　　• While using a private or WSU-owned vehicle for official business, must have current automobile liability insurance (meeting the requirements described in RCW 46.30.020and RCW 46.29.090).

　　• Ability to work a flexible, yet structured schedule with occasional night and weekend shifts to meet the needs of program partners and grant requirements.

　　• Employment is contingent upon passing a background screening.

　　• Commitment to improving food access and opportunities for physical activity.

　　• Experience assessing community needs and evaluating community projects.

　　• Demonstrated ability to work independently and work successfully as a team member.

　　• Lived or professional experience working effectively and responsively with tribal, immigrant/refugee, Latinx, Black & African American, Asian, and Pacific Islander communities.
