Roles & Responsibilities:
The Simulation Engineer will be involved in the development, validation and verification of software simulation models of nuclear power plant and C&I systems using suitable modelling tools and software validation and verification techniques.
The Simulation Engineer will support the integration of simulation models within the overall simulation model architecture and the integration of the software simulation models with hardware simulation facilities. The simulation model will be used to support design activities and verification programmes, validate C&I systems, and train operators.
The role will support the initial development of the modelling and simulation environment, policies, procedures, and tool sets, and support the definition of hardware simulation facilities and processes and tools for integration.
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
Planning of model development work within an agile framework.
Development of the modelling and simulation environment, policies, procedures, and tool sets.
Development of the simulation model architecture and integration of system component models.
Development of models and simulations suitable for validating functional requirements.
Development of models, custom code and simulations suitable for real-time and accelerated simulation of nuclear plant and C&I systems.
Integration of custom code into simulation Models.
Integration of multiple software environments.
Review and agree validation and verification requirements.
Validation and verification of the modelling and simulation environment, policies, procedures, and tool sets.
Support Validation and Verification of the simulation models and overall architecture.
Validation of custom code.
Validation of Integration of Software models into the simulation model architecture.
Liaises with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of components of the system to facilitate effective component design and V&V strategy.
Development of the hardware simulation facility definitions, policies, procedures, and tool sets.
Development of the hardware/software interface definitions, integration policies, procedures, and tool sets.
Define hardware requirements, specifications, and interfaces for hardware simulation facilities.
Liaises with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of components of the system to facilitate effective component design.
Liaise with suppliers and partners to deliver integrated simulation solutions.
