Job Summary:
Performs repairs, maintenance, and service on electric, diesel, andgasoline company vehicles and equipment; work performed primarily at jobsites from a field service truck.
Main Responsibilities
Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safetyinitiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by theSafety Steering and Continuous Improvement teamsSupport, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, andmission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and otherestablished policiesUse diagnostic equipment, visual inspection, and other tools to diagnosefaults or malfunctions to determine required repairsRepair and replace damaged or worn partsDismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand toolsOperate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defectsTest mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensureaccurate performance and compliance with manufacturers' specificationsRead and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technicaldrawings as necessary in order to accurately operate equipmentInstall new ignition systems, change/charge batteries, and replacetransmissions and other partsExamine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices ontrucks and equipment, and makes adjustmentsClean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipmentand vehiclesFabricate special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems,shields, or other devices according to blueprints or schematic drawingsMaintain clean tools and working areaPerform high and low voltage electrical trouble shooting and repairsPerform other routine duties such as building maintenance, equipmenthauling, and equipment operationEducation:
High School Diploma or EquivalentCertificate in Diesel Technology or equivalent combination of education andexperience preferredASE Certification preferredValid driver's license; required to maintain acceptable driving recordDOT Medical Examiner Certificate and/or ability to obtain requiredCommercial Drivers' License (CDL) preferredSkills:
3 or more years of experience as a diesel/heavy equipment mechanic preferredExperience performing U.S. DOT vehicle and brake inspections and adjustmentspreferredAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to work independently and exercise sound judgment Basic computer skill, including ability to operate mobile device(phone, tablet, etc.) and related applicationsPhysical Requirements:
