  Prepares and Secures items for outgoing shipment by performing the following duties.

  Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.Inserts items into containers.Operates strapping and wrapping machines to properly secure outbound loads for transit.Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.Organizes different aspects of outgoing orders to ensure all necessary items for given shipments are included and prevent discrepancies when preparing and loading shipments.Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck or overhead cranes to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping platform to outbound commercial motor vehicles or work area.Other duties may be assigned.

  Education and Experience:

  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of LN and Logistics software.

  Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsAbility to pass forklift written and driving test.

  Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.**Reasoning Ability *Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
