SHE Specialist
within the within the SHES Department working on Dayshift.

Your key responsibilities
Lead a team of Safety experts to ensure compliance with current legislation and dsm-firmenich corporate SHE requirements, relating to relevant occupational safety policies, procedures, standards and training. Audit and take corrective action to ensure conformance to these requirements.
Interface with Corporate SHE to ensure application of dsm-firmenich standards.
Work closely with SHE Manager to agree realistic safety objectives and produce regular reports on safety performance.
Support the development and implementation of SHE KPI’s and monitoring programs for the site to ensure safety compliance.
Provide practical advice on safety issues, feeding back when required standards are not being met and making recommendations for corrective action as appropriate.
Champion safety excellence for the Dalry Site.
Manage all issues on Occupational SHE and provide support to the Occupational Health Nurse.
Lead and Investigate safety incidents and injuries on site to ensure compliance with site and dsm-firmenich standards and close out of actions.
Provide SHE support, auditing and advice on all Occupational health and safety matters.
Leading of WAH activities and implementation of projects to improve WAH tasks.
Supporting high pressure washing activities and being the subject matter expert in this area.
Ensure compliance with the packaging and transport of dangerous goods in compliance with DGSA requirements and standards.
Support on-site radiation tasks/radiography in the role of Radiation Protection Supervisor.
Ensure the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals (REACH) is used on site along the entire supply chain to ensure compliance to relevant legislation.
Ensure management of the Occupational Health Centre, Café and Gym services and staff are in place and assessed to provide the required level of service.
Ensure development of Site Safety Representatives is in place to promote site safety initiatives and standards.
Promotion of wellness activities and development of mental health first aiders.
Preparation, delivery and co-ordination of Safety and Occupational Health training.
Maintain good relationships with external SHE and Occupational Health regulators and practitioners.
Ensures mental health is a priority for the site by coordinating mental health first aid committee and initiatives.

You bring
You are a graduate with a degree in relevant subject with several years’ relevant industrial experience including COSHH, Manual Handling and other Occupational Hygiene related areas.
A thorough knowledge of SHE auditing and legislation.
BOHS or equivalent qualifications are desirable as is knowledge of radiation protection.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel.
You should have proven track record of competence in your respective discipline with excellent interpersonal skills.
Other essential behaviours are self-motivation, team player, good communication and auditing skills.
