RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES
Perform fire alarm inspections, identifying deficiencies and upgrade opportunities.
Perform fire alarm repairs, maintenance, and upgrades.
Perform fire alarm repairs, maintenance, and upgrades.
Support of the service advisors, key account coordinators, and customer support representatives in the performance of their jobs and service calls.
Create reports for customer and agency documentation and submittal.
Maintain relationship with municipal and state fire authorities for licensing and inspections.
Interface with the monitoring center manager and supervisors.
Maintain relationships with major accounts and multi-location accounts to ensure satisfaction and retention. Interface with the sales departments to address current service issues and plan support for future growth.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Two or more years in the installation and/or service of fire alarm systems.
Strong customer service communication and conflict resolution skills.
Experience in the inspection of fire alarm and life safety systems.
Technical knowledge of fire, life safety, and suppression system design and operation is required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES,CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Must qualify for state alarm agent license.
Knowledge of life safety and electrical codes.
Technical certifications are required (CSA, NICET).
Equipment manufacturer’s training and/or certifications are desirable.
Computer / tablet literacy.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The position provides direct inspections and service of customer systems. Responsibilities include interface with and support for internal customers, including office and sales teams. Work directly with customers to maintain relationships, perform conflict resolution, and achieve customer satisfaction for retention. The technician will be expected to expand their skill set into fire sprinkler and suppression systems.WORKING ENVIRONMENT/ MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position includes primarily field time. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, bending, lifting, and climbing. Lifting will include up to 40 pounds. Extensive use of a personal computer and tablet is required. Use of hand and power tools is required on occasion.
