Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Senior Transit Systems Program Manager to be remotely based in Los Angeles, CA .
JOB SUMMARY:
The candidate will need to have experience specializing in rail transit systems program management, design, manufacturing, installation, and construction for multiple modes of rail transit systems including light rail, heavy rail, suburban/commuter rail. Experience with automated guideway and other driverless transit systems, and high-speed rail is preferred. This individual should have a broad understanding of all elements of constructing, installing, testing, safety certifying and commissioning rail transit projects, and should also possess experience and understanding of operations & maintenance of such systems. They must have a track record of delivering on schedule and within budget while maintaining quality. The candidate will also need to have demonstrated experience working with the client’s executive leadership and successfully managing contractors particularly in turnkey contracting arrangements such as design-build, CM/GC and P3.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead development of pursuit strategy and act as a technical capture manager for rail transit system-related projects
Actively engage with client and stakeholders during the pre-proposal phase to better understand key issues that will impact successful project delivery.
Guide the marketing team in proposal development and interview preparation, including formation of win themes and key teaming partnerships.
Develop partnerships with strategic teaming partners.
Act as project/program manager for delivering large complex transportation projects, particularly from the systems, systems integration, test, safety-certifying, and commissioning perspective.
Continue to develop and foster relationships with key client staff.
Manage contractual aspects of projects acting as an agent for AECOM.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS + 12 year of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadershipPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
20+ years of experience in organizational development and leadership; client service management; leading delivery of program management, design, and/or construction management services, and/or business development activities for large-scale transportation/transit clients and/or projects.
15 years of experience in managing the delivery of large complex rail transit projects.
Experience working in various capacities such as owners’ rep, contractor, rail systems supplier and construction management. Public sector together with private sector experience preferred.
Experience must include organizational development and leadership, program management, client service management, design and/or business development activities for large-scale transportation/transit clients and/or projects.
Experience must include continuous design management responsibility, including management of design services during construction. The experience must include interfacing with state and local jurisdictions.
Track record of increasing market share in the transit sector.
A recognized leader in developing and nurturing relationships with key clients.
Experience in client pre-positioning activities, team (internal and external) and proposal development, and execution of selection interviews.
Recognized business development/client management leader.
A team-oriented individual that can work with operations, project, and marketing staff of all levels.
Ability to collaborate across disciplines and business lines for integrated delivery and growth.
Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated team-building, and internal/external networking skills.
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software programs.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.

Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $162,429.97 - $300,495.44.
