The Opportunity
As an expert in the field of contaminants of emerging regulatory concern such as PFAS and PFOS, the Sr. PFAS Specialist will have the opportunity to work with client account managers, project managers, and other internal stakeholders to address client challenges. You will lead solutions for the industries we serve including but not limited to municipal water and wastewater, energy and process industries, and federal. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Lead consulting, studies, and solutions for a diverse array of projects related to PFAS and other contaminants of regulatory concern.
Be a thought leader in the field of contaminants of emerging regulatory concerns, including PFAS and PFOS.
Be part of a rapidly growing environmental solutions team from the platform of an organization with a 100 year history in the AEC industry.
Please note: This role requires up to 25% travel to project and client sites. When not travelling, this role will be virtual.

The Team
Black & Veatch's Environmental Solutions Group is a multidisciplinary team of scientists, specialists, and engineers working together to deliver top environmental solutions to our clients. We provide environmental solutions across a diverse and growing mix of infrastructure sectors including energy and process industries, commercial and connectivity industries, and government and environment industries. As a full-service environmental consulting practice, services include impact assessment and planning, regulatory compliance, air quality permitting, environmental justice, environmental remediation assessment, natural resources studies, water quality impact assessment, environmental site due diligence, acoustics and environmental noise assessment, climate solutions, and pollution prevention planning.
Key Responsibilities
Support client account managers with solutions related to area of expertise to drive client relationships, project prospects, and business growth
Identify market opportunities and support growth initiatives related to area of expertise
Develop and implement strategic project execution approaches
Manage deliverables on environmental consulting assignments including scope, budget and quality
Identify and characterize key differentiators regarding solutions offered
Lead proposals and cost estimates
Mentor environmental team members and influence their career development
Management Responsibilities
Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team. The individual comprising this team may vary by project.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Degree (Masters, PhD, etc.) in Environmental Chemistry, Toxicology, Environmental Engineering, and/or related fields
15+ years of solutions-oriented environmental consulting related to environmental contaminants including PFAS fate and transport
Active engagement in regulatory issue and industry associations
Experience writing proposals
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Being a published thought leader who regularly speaks at conferences is a plus
Experience in client management and business development is a plus
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
