　　Position Overview

　　This is an opportunity to play a critical role in the digital evolution of the NBCUniversal News Group across our entire news portfolio through CNBC’s Direct to Consumer, Acquisition & Retention team who are pioneering new marketing technology and subscriptions platforms. You will shape and support the future of Direct to Consumer subscription products not only for CNBC, but NBC News Group as a whole. You will support and expand our internal marketing technology platform to attract and retain new subscribers, across web, OTT, and mobile.

　　As a Senior Software Engineer, you will partner with the Product, Operations, Design, and Marketing teams. You will be a significant influence on our product roadmap, bringing a technical and strategic perspective. You will work alongside fellow inspired engineers in a fast-paced environment using technologies including React, Next.js, Node, and API services to help shape the future of digital products.

　　This role will report to the Senior Manager of Engineering, Direct to Consumer – Acquisition & Retention. 

　　Responsibilities

　　Build, test, review, and ship performant experiences for our marketing and subscription platforms.

　　Collaborate and coordinate closely with fellow DTC product teams, platform teams, and marketing team.

　　Collaborate on the design of system architecture, data models, data flows, schemas and API contracts.

　　Successfully plan & execute projects involving multiple engineers and complex requirements.

　　Identifies, defines, and solves strategic problems, thinking holistically about the whole system and tackles tech debt proactively.

　　Required Skills

　　B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent industry experience.

　　6+ years of software engineering experience.

　　5+ years with React.

　　Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript

　　Rich and pragmatic understanding of JavaScript technology stacks.

　　Excellent written and verbal communication skills in person, team chat, email and meetings.

　　Experience with automated testing frameworks and methodologies such as Jest.

　　Valuable Skills and Experience

　　Experience with TypeScript, Next.js, Node, GraphQL, and API contracts.

　　Experience using mobile application development (native, React Native)

　　Experience with serverless technologies such as lambda.

　　Experience with one major cloud framework - GCP, Azure or AWS.

　　Understanding of object-oriented design patterns.  (With a focus on the Gang of Four design patterns)

　　Desire to both learn and teach new concepts as part of a team.

　　Salary range: $155,000 - $175,000
