NORTHAMPTON Senior Services Program Coordinator Job Status: Full-TimeShift: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Position is responsible for developing,coordinating and executing programming for the Northampton SeniorServices department. Manages thecreation, development, logistics and ongoing needs of programs, classesand regular activities including scheduling, room use, contract matters,payments, policies, storage, supplies and troubleshooting.Assists withroom set up as needed. Manages and maintains relationships withsupporting staff, volunteers, instructors, facilitators, and multiplecommittees and community groups to identify senior needs and tocoordinate relevant programming to meet these needs both on and off-siteTracks use of space, attendance of participants, scheduling instructorsfor programs Uses tracking tools for data collection and administersevaluations and participant satisfaction surveys to inform short andlong range planning processes, annual reports and budgetcreation/funding justification Markets events and programs throughwebsite, flyers, mailings, social media, constant contact and otheronline/digital means Works collaboratively with staff and/or vendors indevelopment of marketing materials for the monthly newspaper, flyers andother content for advertising of programs Manages monthly calendar ofprograms, activities, events and services, including scheduling,calendar distribution and updates to staff and volunteers Assists withdeveloping partnerships for programming with outside parties andorganizations, including contract negotiation/execution, eventlogistics, invoices, policy enforcement and assisting with IT/AVneeds/coordination Creates, manages and/or supports Senior Servicesspecial events, including scheduling, logistics coordination, ticketsales, and coordination of catering/performers/sponsors and oversight onday of event Purchases supplies and equipment for program offeringsPrepares and submits final reports of all programs Responds to email andphone call inquiries from participants; advises on availability andtypes of programs; explains and enforces the general policies to beadhered to when participating in programs Performs similar or relatedwork as required MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE -Associates Degree and from one to two years of supervisory experience intherapeutic or recreational programming, preferably in a municipalsetting, experience working with senior citizens or other populationsconducting/developing/coordinating programs and events, or anyequivalent combination of education and experience, required. Knowledge,Ability and Skills - Knowledge of the principles and practices ofprogramming, event planning, and management. Ability to use Microsoftprograms, as well as other programs, applications and databases. Abilityto deal appropriately, courteously, tactfully, diplomatically andeffectively with the general public, including challenging and difficultcustomers Interpersonal and customer service skills; verbal and writtencommunication skills. Massachusetts Class D Drivers License required.MISC. INFORMATION 35 Hours per week is considered full-time for thisposition. Full benefits.
