We believe that our differences enable us to be a better team - one that makes better decisions, drives innovation and delivers better business results.
Title and Summary
Senior Scrum Master
Overview:
This role is situated within Aiia, one of Mastercard's latest acquisitions. Aiia is a revolutionary Fintech platform dedicated to transforming the account-to-account payments ecosystem. As a Senior Scrum Master, you will lead a team of six members alongside a Lead Developer. The squad structure is flat and T-Shaped, meaning there's no hierarchy, and every developer is versatile, handling various tasks. Your squad is part of the Connectivity Division, responsible for developing and maintaining products that ensure high-quality connectivity to banks across Europe.
Responsibilities:
-Team Coordination: Coordinate the work of two Scrum teams.
-Facilitate Ceremonies: Lead and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies and meetings.
-Impediment Resolution: Identify and resolve the team's impediments.
-Resource Management: Contribute to the resource management of the employees within the squads.
-Cross-Team Communication: Communicate with other squads and managers to ensure alignment across the entire Connectivity Division.
-Backlog Management: Manage the team backlog and closely collaborate with Business Analysts (BAs) and Product on priorities, ensuring the team's work is reflected on the board.
-Communication and Transparency: Ensure effective communication and transparency within the team.
-Team Atmosphere: Foster a positive team atmosphere and ensure that the squads are a great place to work.
Requirements:
-Pragmatic - We are working in a quite specific domain and therefore some agile practices are difficult/impossible to be implemented. As an example - each of our User Stories depends on a third party (a bank API), so the task completion doesn't fully depend on the team. It implies a group of spillovers that goes from one sprint into another. A strong agile evangelist may find it difficult to work in such an ecosystem.
-Flexible - We are still "a startup" in some aspects - not all processes are perfectly defined. It would be great if our scrum masters don't see it as a big obstacle in their work.
-A little technical - Most impediments are somehow technical related, so it may be quite useful for scrum masters to understand these impediments on a high level.
-Domain-oriented - All things we do are strongly connected to the domain. We don't expect that Scrum Master is a PSD2 expert, but will not deviate from the domain on daily basis. We need somebody that is capable of understanding the basic concepts.
-Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, facilitation, and leadership skills.
