　　About Siemens Technology Department

　　Siemens Technology is the central in-house research unit at Siemens and as such occupies an outstanding position within Siemens' R&D facilities. It acts as a strategic partner to support Siemens’ business units with R&D services, protects the company’s intellectual property, coordinates the collaboration with top universities worldwide, and supports standardization activities in all business units and regions. Through its R&D activities in Germany, USA, Portugal, China, India, Japan, and Eastern Europe, Siemens Technology helps to secure the company’s technological future and strengthen its ambition.

　　Your mission will be…

　　This role is an opportunity for a Senior/Middle Software Engineer who is enthusiastic about data management and system integration. As a Python Backend Developer at Siemens, you will technically lead team of software engineers by designing and developing of innovative solutions for site energy management, buildings decarbonization, power grids planning & operation, industrial monitoring & analytics. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional multinational teams to ensure that software products meet the highest standards of performance and scalability, being able to process complex data.

　　You will be responsible for

　　Development of backend for distributed software systems (cloud, edge, web)

　　Designing & improving software architecture

　　Ensuring code quality, reusability, modularity, maintainability and security

　　Improving performance and scalability of developed software

　　Participation in requirements elicitation, communication with end customers

　　Improving development processes, including refactoring activities

　　Conduction of code reviews

　　We are looking for someone with…

　　Experience in industrial/commercial software development with Python more than 5 years

　　Proficient in Python programming language and related libraries, including Pandas, Flask

　　Skills of object-oriented programming

　　Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and cloud database services such as Amazon RDS

　　Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB

　　Experience in designing and optimizing database schemas to support application requirements

　　Experience with RESTful and SOAP APIs for data integration between different systems

　　Confident owner of version control system (Git)

　　Linux knowledge on the level of advanced user

　　Docker deployment

　　Communication skills and readiness to work in a team as well as individually

　　Upper intermediate English

　　Would be beneficial

　　Knowledge and experience with:

　　Data modeling tools such as ERwin, PowerDesigner, Enterprise Architect

　　ETL tools such as Apache NiFi, Talend, Informatica

　　Data analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI

　　Common Information Model in Energy (CIM 61970, CIM 61968)

　　Data modeling languages e.g. OWL, RDF

　　Willingness to mentor colleagues

　　PhD in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
