  Job Overview

  Assists in accounting support for multiple centralized properties within the organization. Responsible for the preparation of multi-property monthly financial statements, bank reconciliations and sales tax returns. Manages the cash of the property to include A/P disbursements, cash forecasts, funding requests and ownership distributions. Manage the accounting discipline for complex ownership structures and communicates with our ownership groups directly regarding financial statements. Conducts account analysis for balance sheet, income and expense accounts. Support both financial and sales/use tax audits. Ensures compliance with company policies, contractual obligations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

  Responsibilities

  Ensure all monthly statement, bank reconciliations and tax returns are accurately completed and submitted by accounting deadlines.

  Prepare journal entries as appropriate to ensure accurate financial reporting. Produce and maintain proper supporting documentation of journal entries as well as other work.

  Conduct analysis on all statements, balance sheets, income, and expense accounts to ensure accuracy, identify trends and make recommendations for change that can positively impact the property.

  Assist properties with overall accounting needs and questions.

  Provide accounting and finance support to the DVP, Regional Controllers, VPs of Operations, and corporate accounting team.

  Assist leadership with training on various accounting topics that may be required or needed.

  Analyze monthly financial statements for accuracy, trends, and ways to improve property performance.

  Assist with annual budgets and forecasts.

  Provide support to external auditors during reviews and audits.

  Provide open communications and promote a positive and pro-employee work environment.

  Bring all sensitive accounting-related information to the attention of leadership in all instances to limit liability.

  Compile various corporate reports and property reports to provide leadership with accurate information and comply with corporate policies and procedures as well as government laws and regulations.

  Oversight of staff accountant(s) and contracted professional service representatives.

  Qualifications

  Education/Formal Training

  Degree in Accounting or related field.

  Experience

  4 or more years of work experience in same or related field. Hospitality experience preferred.

  Knowledge/Skills

  Ability to read and understand the general ledger, balance sheet and income statement reports.

  Understanding of balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations.

  Ability to prioritize tasks to achieve successful outcomes.

  Intermediate knowledge of Excel.

  Experience with M3 Accounting Core, Profitsword, and hotel PMS systems is preferred.

  Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

  Ability to mentor.

  Excellent communication skills.
