Mott MacDonald is looking to hire an experienced, motivated, independent, and organized team player for a Project Controls Manager position. This position will help support rail projects in the Seattle Washington area. This is hybrid work opportunity reporting to the office in Federal Way, WA approximately 3 times a week.The Project controls manager may have some or all the following responsibilities:Provide professional guidance and support to project teams to help develop project WBS structures, budgets, resource forecasts, risk registers, progress reports and standardized reportingProvide specialized direction and recommendations to project teams and management teams for the resolution of diverse project issuesCompile, monitor and report on project financial data, including but not limited to, planned spend, actual spend, estimate to complete, budget trends, project costs, etc.Attend and/or facilitate monthly project controls meetings with key project personnelPerform data validation and quality checks on project expenses and invoicesPerform data validation and quality checks on project reportsProvide fee proposal support, to include assisting in development of fee proposals and profitability analysisManage contract amendment process, assist with preparing submittal documents, and collect and/or develop necessary inputsSubconsultant ManagementPerform quality checks and facilitate processing of subconsultant invoicesTrack and monitor subconsultant progress against budgetsFacilitate budget reallocations across multiple firms on major projectsInitiate and manage purchase ordersChange ManagementCreate and manage change ordersFacilitate development of scope and cost documents across internal and external (subconsultant) project teamsOversee change order submittal, negotiation, and approval processesPerform commercial reviews of the financial impacts of project change orders as requiredEarned Value Management by working with the project manager to:Develop budget/planned value of work based on contract scope of workDetermine the actual value of work completed by the project team based on milestones and objectivesCalculate the earned value of the physical work completedPerform variance analysis including schedule and cost variances using indices such as the schedule performance index (SPI) and cost performance index (CPI).Prepare ad-hoc reports for distributionNetwork with project managers, engineers, invoicers, and accounting teams to address project needs and resolve issuesCommunicate with project controls teammates and collaborate as neededThe ideal Project controls manager will have the following qualifications:At least 10 years of increasing responsibility roles within the engineering/project controls/program management industryA Certified Cost Professional (CCP) with AACE International; or as a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) with PMI, or other equivalent certification relevant to the management Bachelor's degree in an engineering, business, construction management, or related fieldStrong command of ExcelExperience with ERP accounting systemsExperience with engineering projects preferredWorking knowledge of project design process and configuration management preferredMust have exceptional organizational skillsMust have excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to read and understand project schedules preferredExperience with SharePoint preferredSalary Range:$160,000 - $200,000Benefits:401k, medical, dental, and vision insurance, STD/LTD disability, holiday, personal time off (PTO), parental leave, and company-paid life insurance.E
