We are looking for a talented Senior Product Manager - Hedgehog Industrial Engines to join our team specializing in Marketing for our Power Systems Business Segment in Columbus, IN / your remote home office.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Manages key product line lifecycles. Understands and interprets market and industry trends.
Leads the marketing initiatives for new product introduction and existing product change introduction.
Develops the long-term product line strategy, forecast, and the annual operating plan.
Provides product line budget requirements into the business unit annual operating plan.
Drives the development of product introduction plans.
Develops all aspects of the marketing mix to ensure the successful launch of new products and throughout the subsequent lifecycle.
Presents marketing approach for functional review and to the change management review group.
Drives pricing activity throughout the product lifecycle.
Drives available marketing resources and uses those resources appropriately and as needed.
Ensures that the product branding strategy is implemented effectively, leads, and supports internal and external communications in relations to the product range.
Protects intellectual property of the organization and works with legal counsel and engineering to ensure asset protection.
Uses market research capabilities to plan for and implements an appropriate approach based on the understanding of Cummins’ target market and competitors.
Defines and adopts, in the target market, a specific stance relative to the competition with the use of market research capabilities.
Drives improvement of customer satisfaction and solves elevated customer issues in relation to product.
Drives management of the product lifecycle; determines when products should be deemed obsolete.
Develops, implements, and measures results of product promotions.
Collaborates with other functions and global locations to ensure global profitability of the product line.
Recommends marketing process changes that will improve Value Package Introduction and Value Package Change processes.
Develops work plans for Product Managers and Associate Product Managers to deliver product line results; provides guidance and direction on problems and issues; delegates work assignments considering employee skills and development needs.

Positioning For Target Segments - Aggregates appropriate inputs (e.g. customer perceptions, competitor positioning, alternative product capabilities) and determining where we need or want to compete for business within the target market segment.
Product Life Cycle Management - Identifies and executes changes to the product portfolio in response to evolving market dynamics and customer needs.
Storytelling - Develops and delivers a compelling narrative which resonates with a target audience and influences a decision or course of action.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
College, university, or equivalent degree in Marketing, Sales, technical, or a related subject required.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Significant relevant work experience required, including supervisory experience.
Product Managers are now the Product Owners within the new Power Systems Industrial Engines and Aftermarket organization.
With this role comes accountability for managing the Cummins Inc. QSK95 global industrial engine platform, one of PSBU's anchor platforms and in the growth stages of its product lifecycle.
This role will also include the industrial version of the HSK78 and GQSK60 natural gas engines as new application opportunities firm up within the Oil and Gas market.
Ownership for pricing, cost, and lifecycle management.
Champions and facilitates the development of fit for market engine features and performance for critical markets and regions.
Frequently interacting with Industrial Engines & Aftermarket Customer Teams, Distribution Business, end users, and industry experts to understand customer/market needs incorporate them into the product's strategy and value package profile.
Creates and implements strategies to profitably grow the business with the current product platform.
Manages the engine platform product budget – determining what VPIs and VPCRs to invest in.
Partners closely with Engineering and Program Management to define and execute VPI, VPC, and PPS projects.
Partners closely with Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams to drive down cost and reduce supplier risk on the platform.
Partners closely with Strategy, Product Planning &Digital organization to develop product roadmap.
Promotes innovation, creativity, and functional excellence - partnering with other Product Management organizations within CMI and industry experts.
Coaches and mentor's other product managers within our team and across the Cummins global network.
Role Classification: Hybrid - there is flexibility to work from Columbus, Seymour, or Indianapolis at an agreed upon frequency with manager.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience, range: $114,400-$171,600. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
