About Senior Product Manager, Data Protection

  Minimum qualifications:

  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  10 years of experience in technical product management.

  Experience in working with UX to align user, business, and legal needs.

  Preferred qualifications:

  Experience in privacy, security, online safety, counter-abuse measures or areas related to building technology governance tools.

  Experience with complex infrastructure products and big systems.

  Experience with privacy engineering or compliance.

  Experience working with internal customers.

  Familiarity with regulatory frameworks affecting the technology industry, such as international laws governing privacy, antitrust, etc.

  In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

  Our privacy and security team is focused on building the advanced protections into Google products, treating information responsibly, protecting it with excellent security, and keeping the user in control.

  In this role, you will work to define the product goal and strategy and represent the customer in the area of privacy and security. You will need to consider short and long-term solutions, policy in the industry at large, the Google customer experience, regulatory compliance and law.

  The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

  Collect and analyze customer feedback and requests and share the knowledge with the team. Incorporate user feedback, user research, and technical requirements into holistic goals.

  Create/modify goals for the portion of the product portfolio and ensure the fastest time to deliver in-scope software products for Google.

  Define and refine the approach for creation, modification and adoption of our technologies by our customers.

  Define and create materials to aid adoption of key customer facing products, including roadmaps, customer playbooks, support playbooks, go-to-market materials, etc.

  Define metrics and measurement techniques for success.
