This part-time temporary position is for a Radar Software Engineer, with additional knowledge of Jovial compilers, within the Software Product Engineering (SPE) Unit of Raytheon Engineering. We are looking for a leader to join our Software Engineering Center in Tewksbury, MA, a suburb of Boston working a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities to anticipate:
Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts.
Work on complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.
Work effectively and contribute significantly during all phases of the software development life cycle, including software/hardware integration.
Develop real-time embedded software, using a variety of languages, tools and applications.
Show highly exceptional investigation and trouble-shooting skills to assess issues and develop resolutions to them.
Provide guidance and direction to the team (across multiple disciplines, functional areas, project management, and customers), including decision making, problem resolution, staffing decisions and team growth and development.
Ensure performance to technical, cost, schedule, and quality.
Support follow-on program pursuits.
System and software requirements and architecture generation and analysis.
Algorithm and mode development, including architectural design document creation, prototyping, modeling, and simulation tools.
Conduct program review and Subject Matter Expert (SME) support.
Participate in generation of relevant white papers, final reports, and patents.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math, Physics, etc. from an accredited University, and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Experience developing embedded software utilizing JOVIAL, C, C++, Ada or related tools/languages
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Experience with compiler design, assemblers, and linkers.
Experience with Radar Software Architecture, Signal processing or Data processing, including RF signal processing techniques, experience developing advanced mathematical algorithms, analytic techniques, and computer simulations.
Experience in every phase of the software development life-cycle – Developing, integrating, and fielding real time embedded software, including software/hardware development and integration.
Experience documenting software designs for both internal use and to an external customer.
Experience engaging and mentoring team; guides change to achieve execution excellence and resolve critical issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience translating high level system requirements into software requirements.
Experience sizing a software design into lines of code required and complexity of the implementation.
Experience with developing software on radar-based systems.
Experience with developing and integrating software for advanced Ground-to-Air radar modes.
Experience with either development of or integration with infrastructure software, middleware, and drivers.
Experience with software development and integration across multiple subsystems into a complete system.
Experience with Continuous Integration methodologies.
