The Town of Falmouth IT Department has recently been restructured, andwe are currently recruiting team-oriented IT professionals for threefull-time positions ranging from Tier 1 (entry)-level to Tier 3-level.The IT Support Specialist II is Tier 2 level position with opportunitiesfor professional development and advancement within the department. Thisposition works 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30p.m. with occasional opportunities for overtime to assist with off-hourscheduled maintenance and emergencies. Duties include but are notlimited to supporting Town end user help desk tickets as a level twoescalation path; triaging, diagnosing, and resolving problems regardingsoftware, hardware, VPN, multi-factor identification, wi-fi networks,broadband services, and infrastructure; communicating solutions to endusers; correcting application issues; solving network and securityproblems; and identifying common PC software and hardware problems. TheIT Support Specialist II also performs analytical, technical, andadministrative work in the planning and installation of new and existingpersonal devices and workstations and provides mobile device managementsupport for end user laptops, tablets, and smartphones. This positionalso ensures system security and network support, manages andtroubleshoots the Card Access Control System, trains end users in theuse of equipment and software, provides website support, and performsother duties in support of IT department goals. This position travels tooffsite Town departments to perform these functions as required. Theideal candidate can work independently but enjoys being part of a teamand contributing to the goals of the IT department. The successfulapplicant has excellent customer service skills and is a patient problemsolver with strong IT knowledge, skills, and abilities and an interestin continuing professional development. Minimum requirements include anassociate degree in computer science or related field, bachelor\'sdegree preferred, and three to five years or more of responsibleexperience in an information technology environment with projectmanagement experience preferred; or any equivalent combination ofeducation, training or experience which demonstrates possession of therequired knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform theessential functions of the position. Must possess a valid driver\'slicense and successfully pass a comprehensive background check.Preference Date to Apply: Monday, February 5, 2024 by 4:30 pm.
