About Senior Planning Manager, AMZL LM S&OP

  Description

  The Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Planning Team provides volume forecasts and flexible capacity solutions for in-station and on road operations, year-round and enabling the business to scale for seasonal peak demand increases.

  This role is based out of our Tokyo corporate office. The ideal candidate is passionate about leading small teams to deliver big results leveraging data to deliver actionable insights that impact daily business, has a strong delivery record and experienced in driving execution in a cross-functional environment, backed by analysis and data.

  They thrive in a fast-paced environment, relishes working with large transactional volumes and big data and enjoys the challenge of highly complex, and sometimes ambiguous, business context.

  A successful candidate knows how to build small, strong performing teams, and shares their love of working with business intelligence tools, accessing and working with big data from multiple sources, and enthusiastic about partnering with the business to deliver results.

  You should have an internal drive to hire and develop the best, challenge the status quo, demonstrate excellent analytical skills, strong technical skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  You would be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.

  Key job responsibilities

  Drive long term vision for the team, business and design technical solutions in partnership with product teams

  Develop strong partnerships and mechanism with upstream and downstream planning functions to measure, control and respond to planning variation with long term roadmaps

  Actively manage the growth of the network and standardize processes

  Lead your team to analyze drivers of significant forecast misses to continuously improve planning accuracy

  Clearly communicate dependencies and manage/track expectations

  Support local site management and workforce teams to optimize staffing requirements

  Maintain regular communication with WW Planning teams to leverage experience; utilize existing tools and help to drive development of tool improvements

  Promote process improvement and standardization of processes across the network

  Basic Qualifications

  Bachelor's degree

  5+ years of program or project management experience

  Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

  Preferred Qualifications

  Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  3+ years of supply chain experience

  Excited about working in a diverse group and contributing to an inclusive culture
