This position is hybrid in nature requiring 2 days/week in-person in Westinghouse Global Headquarters in Cranberry, PA (Pittsburgh area). We are interested in every qualified candidates who are eligible to work in the United States. However, we are not able to sponsor visas and relocation expenses will not be covered.Senior Nuclear Criticality Safety EngineerYour Day-to-Day:Participate in mentor-lead, introductory training focused on standard criticality safety and reactor core depletion analyses.Perform analysis work for US and international plant facility customers, following industry recognized methodologies and internal procedures while maintaining focus on nuclear safety and quality to produce error-free workCriticality safety analyses will support the safe storage of fresh and depleted nuclear fuel materials preventing undesired reactivity phenomena and decay heat issues at plant sites and in Westinghouse fuel storage products.Develop applicable, task-specific engineering skills necessary to meet rigorous analytical objectives using Monte Carlo analysis and discrete core depletion programs.Prevent emergent criticality safety issues in LWR spent fuel pools and support the integration of Westinghouse fuel products into existing plant licensing bases.Learn to plan and schedule own work to meet analyses goals within schedule and budget requirements.Participate in multi-discipline project teams and communicate to responsible project managers the nature and status of work projects.Interact with nuclear plant customers and industrial regulators to ensure criticality analysis products meet quality and safety goals.
Who You Are:As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:Minium QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (Nuclear, and/or Materials, etc.) or related Discipline (e.g., Physics, etc.) preferred or recognized equivalent requiredMinimum 5-10 years of engineering experience requiredAbility to apply fundamental engineering principles and learn simultaneously from several engineering disciplinesConcise and effective written and verbal skills, ability to learn quickly and display a strong attention to detailStrong interpersonal skills, experience working effectively in a team environment in person and/or remote
