Position Information
UC Riverside's Dining and Hospitality Services is recruiting for the Senior Manager, Residential Dining. Under the general direction from the Director of Residential Dining, the Senior Manager will plan, organize, manage, and direct the total day-to-day activities, work schedules, customer service, and maintenance functions for a residential all you care to eat restaurant, the Lo2Go mobile ordering platform, and the Late night Food operations out of the Market at Glen Mor. This position participates in the planning, development, preparation, and management of unit budgets to ensure fiscal controls. The Senior Manager selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates performance of assigned staff. The position oversees ordering, receiving, storage, and issuing of all assigned products. The Senior Manager ensures food quality, assists in the development of innovative menus, and ensures a high level of guest satisfaction. Provides operational oversight, guidance, and support to the management team and supervisors.
The full salary range for the Senior Manager, Residential Dining is $64,300.00 - $114,300.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $89,300.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required

Must successfully obtain ServSafe certification with a minimum score of 75 within six (6) months of appointment begin date. Required

8 - 13 years of related experience. Required
Experience within a customer service oriented environment, including responding to and meeting/exceeding the needs of customers in a high volume, continuous public contact setting. Required
Demonstrated food service management experience in a University and/or College environment and a knowledge of campus policies and procedures. Preferred
Experience working and managing in a unionized environment and general knowledge of labor relations policies and principles. Preferred
Experience in a supervisory role responsible for hiring, training, evaluating, directing, disciplining, and complaint resolution, as well as directing, organizing, and prioritizing personal workload and the workload of others to meet required deadlines and departmental objectives. Required
Experience with preparation and management of operational budgets, related financial analysis, inventory analysis, inventory controls, and labor analysis. Required
Supervisory experience, preferably in food service industry. Preferred
Experience in planning, organizing, and coordinating the work of others to accomplish daily goals in multiple locations. Required

Minimum Requirements
Intermediate computer application skills to include food service applications for point of sale and inventory control software.
Strong decision making and reasoning skills, and ability to develop original ideas to solve problems, and conduct operations analysis and quality control analysis.
Strong and effective interpersonal and work leadership skills to provide guidance to all levels of personnel.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language, including active listening, dynamic flexibility, and critical thinking, and ability to multi-task and ensure effective time management.
Strong knowledge in food service and sanitation regulations.
Strong and effective communication skills in a private or group setting. Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy while ensuring message is conveyed.
Knowledge of food trends, creation of menus, and creation of Limited Time Offerings.
Skill in creating spreadsheets and reports using Word, Excel, or other software applications.
Skill in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, computing ratios, rates and percentages.
Skill in understanding and interpreting the department's policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Skill in communicating orally and in written format in Spanish.
