SENIOR MANAGER PRODUCTION – SANTA CATARINA
JOB PURPOSE:
To direct an assigned production area in the manufacture and/or assembly of quality parts to meet established production requirements. Owns and sets the overall direction for the value stream(s) in a given area, with overall responsibility for PQVC performance of the value stream(s) including MQ12005 certification and CPS Assessment scores.
JOB DUTIES:
Reporting directly to this position are Section Managers, Group Manager 1s, various levels of Operations support personnel, Manufacturing Specialist and Manufacturing Engineers.
Principal Activities include:
The incumbent directs the manufacturing, assembly, adjustment, testing and shipping of prime products and components in accordance with shipping orders, quality controls and dealer dates. Initiates actions to overcome impediments causing delays.
This position contributes to the total manufacturing effort by directing and controlling several operations from fabrication, manufacturing, assembly, test, and shipping. Ensures production schedules can be met in a Lean Manufacturing environment to satisfy assembly line and parts schedule requirements. The incumbent initiates action to prevent manufacturing and assembly line shut-downs by authorizing overtime and informing maintenance or machine repair personnel of priorities, alerting Planning or Tooling to manufacturing process changes, etc.
The incumbent strives to attain their primary responsibility of maintaining high performance and minimizing costs. Analyzes burden and efficiency data to isolate problems and improve performance and costs. Performs on-going evaluation of work loads and assists Section Managers in solving problems related to quality, work effort, grievances, cost drivers and general overall attitudes.
Position should have good working knowledge of labor rules and regulations.
Develops the budget for assigned area and offers constructive recommendations on the selection and promotion of personnel to fill openings. The incumbent is responsible for action to study specific problems to reduce costs or improve quality.
CPS responsibilities include:
Manages multiple sections and reports to the facility manager. Owns the Continuous Improvement process, making sure new ideas are generated, worked and implemented, and any roadblocks are eliminated. Initiates and conducts process improvement dialogs with Section Managers, Team Leads and Team Members. Develops detailed near-term and long-term production plans. Drives root cause analysis and resolution on all forms of loss, i.e., safety, quality, production. Performs periodic audits for safety behavior, 5S, quality and MQ12005, standard work, productivity and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
This position will be responsible for a three-shift operation in some plants and/or may have responsibility for a major area on a specific shift. Coordination of material, equipment, manpower and quality rests with this position as well as meeting schedule requirements. Work direction, problem solving and coordination with support departments is a major responsibility. Determining budget requirements, cost savings projects, forecasting production needs and ensuring quality standards are maintained rests with this position.
Adheres to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, affirmative action, etc. in performing assigned duties. REQUIREMENTS:
Recommend six to ten years in a variety of Staff and Supervisory positions in Manufacturing Operations to gain good understanding of CPS processes and tools, machining, fabrication and assembly operations and techniques along with a good knowledge of component products.
A college degree or equivalent work experience is required for this position.
Must complete the CPS Group Manager functional Curriculum.
The incumbent must be a strong communicator and have strong leadership and managerial skills to direct and motivate people to ensure divisional goals are met.
