  Minimum Requirements:Master's degree in Business or related field and four or more years of related business experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Grade 9 (Salaried)Position Description:This position is the senior manager over post-ward grant financial management for the Kent School of Social Work and provides supervisory oversight of financial administrators and corresponding activities. This position also serves as the technical expert for accounting, project management, and billing databases for the unit and provides interface to improve functionality with vendor programmers and central university departments. Direct coordination of BA functionality and troubleshooting with senior level staff in University Central Business Operations.Essential ResponsibilitiesFiscal management and oversight of all post-award grant revenue and funding for the Kent School of Social Work & Family Science and the Center for Community and Family Well-Being (CFCWB). This position will provide supervision of all functions of post-award grant management.Actively work with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare financial reports, budgets, projections, pipeline analysis, and forecasts. Provide leadership and guidance in day-to-day operation of grant management. Recommend and initiate budget adjustments accordingly and serve as liaison with granting agencies, community groups, and higher education organizations.Supervise Finance staff and manage the reconciliation of externally funded grants and programs using BA4, including solving problems related to availability of funds and erroneous transactions, monitoring cash balances/revenues/billing to sponsors, and serving as liaison with sponsored accounting regarding allowability of expenditures and ensuring all activity is documented per university and sponsor guidelines. Includes reconciliation of salaries and benefits and operation within BA4.Coordinate, along with Director - Unit Business Administration, annual budget implementation.Serve as unit database manager and technical expert for the BA4 Accounting and financial reconciliation system. Duties include oversight of system maintenance and trouble shoot issues with Central Business Operations management (Dir of Business Operations, Operations Support) and external vendor programmers. This position is responsible for the overall integrity of the data in the BA system for Kent School and how the system is used to manage accounts. Overall management of all Kent School payroll funding and retro-active changes in BA4. Perform routine quality assurance audits of Kent School reconciliations by Kent Business Center personnel and provide departmental corrective oversight. Providing support and direction to other BA users in unit.Serve as database manager and technical authority for FBS project management and billing system for Kent School. Duties include oversight of system maintenance and troubleshooting problems with vendor programmers. High level technical assistance for system users, currently in the recognized Center for Community and Family Well-Being. Creation and maintenance of system user manual.High-level oversight and supervision of payroll and position management activities for Center and serve as backup for these activities.Creation and maintenance of process and procedure or workflow documentation for grant operations, and finance activities within unit.Creation and maintenance of training documentation for BA and FBS databases.Identify data-mining requirements for financial report creation as required by grant sponsors and solicit cooperation from central offices to provide to Kent Business Center staff and others.Formal backup to Research and Grants Manager under Associate Dean of Research for new grant proposal submissions, which includes preparation of new budgets, assembly of electronic grant packages per sponsor Requests for Proposals, and communication and coordination of letters of intent from external partners.Oversight of faculty and staff access to university and unit systems, such as OnBase reconciliation system, and STARS thru University Business Operations.Serve as backup to Director, Unit Business Administration for payroll and purchasing approvals and overall administrative activities.
