About Senior Lead Software Engineer - Python

  As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the within the Corporate and Investment Bank in Currencies and Emerging Markets Technology Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.

  Job responsibilities

  Builds creative software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems

  Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others

  Works closely with product engineering lead and plays a pivotal role of being a technical lead for the junior developers in the region by helping them build solutions, doing code reviews and unblocking issues

  Focuses on functional and non-functional (reliability, resiliency, performance) aspects of the solutions delivered individually and by the team

  Guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives

  Provides regular technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors

  Writes test cases, leverages unit and integration testing

  Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes

  Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle

  Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies

  Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion,

  Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience

  Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

  Advanced in one or more programming language(s) - Strong experience in languages like Python, C++, Java or Go language

  Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

  Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight

  Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field

  Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  Practical cloud native experience

  Knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT system

  We offer a competitive total rewards package including base salary determined based on the role, experience, skill set, and location. For those in eligible roles, we offer discretionary incentive compensation which may be awarded in recognition of firm performance and individual achievements and contributions.   Base Pay/Salary

  NY $171,000.00 - $260,000.00 / year
