You will be part of the innovative team responsible for designing, developing, and updating training courses that teach GIS concepts, skills, and workflows.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze target audience, job tasks, and learner environment to define learning objectivesWork with subject matter experts (SMEs) to quickly assess, design, and evaluate instructor-led and web-based training materials that are educational and effectiveDesign courses that apply instructional design and effective learning principles to engage students in the learning process, encourage participation, and meet the requirements of the adult learnerSupport the development of learning assessments, providing feedback and recommendationsCollaborate with team members to identify, contribute, and recommend new ideas or methods for enhancing our curriculumEvaluate and enhance the overall content design of existing Esri curriculumStay up-to-date and expand knowledge of instructional design and e-learning industry trends and related technologyRequirements5+ years of experience as an instructional designer, technical writer, or trainer with experience in instructional design techniques, knowledge of adult learning theories, and expertise in developing instructional resourcesExceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skillsSuperior initiative and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environmentStrong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritizeKnowledge of and experience applying the ADDIE model of instructional designDemonstrated instructional design skills, including audience analysis, needs analysis, development of scope, design specifications, performance-based objectives, assessments, and curriculum developmentExperience developing instructor-led training and web-based training for software applicationsBachelor's or Master's degree in instructional design, instructional or educational technology, curriculum development, or related fieldRecommended QualificationsExperience creating instructional graphicsUnderstanding of GIS and knowledge of Esri softwareProficiency with Microsoft Office products (Windows, Word, PowerPoint), TechSmith Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, and Articulate StudioPORTFOLIO SUBMISSIONPlease include a link to your online portfolio or PDF samples of recent work.
