  Purpose:

  Developing and implementing policies and practices to identify/mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace and external environments.

  Investigating accidents and environmental incidents and liaising with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence.

  Providing advice and training on safety protocols and conducting audits to ensure compliance with organisation and government standards related to environmental heath and safety.

  Maintaining relationships with the community, environmental groups, and other stakeholders impacted by the environmental performance of the organisation.

  Manage and maintain energy management data.

  Accountability Level: Manages an Operational Job Family for an entire region/country. Establishes operational/Job Family plans for job area over the short to mid-term (1-3 years) with a direct impact on results. Influences business decisions made by leadership on complex issues that are of strategic importance.

  What you’ll do:

  Establish key business risk HSE improvement projects and manage their implementation.

  Identify and manage HSE budget requirements.

  Evaluate the skills and capabilities of Health, Safety, and Environmental personnel and structure the team appropriately, developing and recruiting to fill skills gaps.

  Ensure legal, regulatory, and certification compliance is maintained, and implementation of HSE procedures.

  Develop and drive HSE initiatives and manage the implementation of global HSE rollouts improvements.

  Manage the process for accident and incident investigations in relation to all incident reports (Accidents and Risks) and monitor issue resolution.

  Manage & issue monthly HSE reporting for business unit.

  Monitor HSE Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

  Manage the Internal HSE audit schedule and ensure that significant business unit level issues are highlighted and managed.

  Review and revise HSE Standards and Processes and ensure compliance to Group HSE Policies, Standards and Standard Operating Procedures across the business units.

  Provide proactive support and guidance on all HSE related areas within the business unit.

  Identify relevant HSE training requirements, and ensure HSE training plans are in place and complied with for all affected personnel.

  Liaising with Customers/External Bodies/Suppliers on matters related to HSE.

  Ensure that effective HSE communications are in place and that consultation is embedded.

  Build effective relationships across all functions, the business unit management team and the Group HSE team.

  Passionately champion all aspects of HSE in the business.

  Provide professional support for business tendering activities.
