  The Landscape team is committed to making higher education accessible toevery student, no matter where they live or learn. We provide a no-costtool to Higher Education Institutions that gathers consistent, qualityhigh school and neighborhood information for every applicant to helpadmissions officers fully consider all students. We are a small,self-organized team of 3 engineers with a lot of autonomy. We are nevershy about experimenting and implementing solutions using the mostinnovative technologies. We regularly collaborate, keeping it light,while pitching and sharing our ideas to help define the future of theapplication. We work closely with product owners, higher educationinstitutions, and external partners to serve our mission.

  About the Opportunity

  As a Senior Full Stack Engineer on the Landscape team, you are acollaborator, an idea-sharer. You have a strong interest inunderstanding and improving products for the end user. You relish theopportunity to bring your ideas and your love of coding to support,enhance and define the future of a fully cloud-based web applicationthat is used by thousands of college admissions officers across thecounty. You are not shy about taking on new work you may not have donebefore while eagerly contributing to all phases of software engineeringincluding requirements analysis, application design, coding, testing,deploying, and support.

  In this role, you will:

  Design & Implementation (75%)

  Design and implement high-quality software using the latest andgreatest cloud technologiesMaintain the highest engineering standards in collaboration withproduct owners, architects, and stakeholders, in support of oursystems and servicesUnderstand new product capabilities and decompose the implementationinto specific functional changes for verificationBuild solutions using the best practices of Agile, CI/CD, and DevOpsContinuously develop the skills required to work as part of theAgile team in a poly-skilled development environmentTeam Operations & Success (25%)

  Participate in Agile SCRUM ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Grooming,Daily SCRUM, Demo) and contribute to team deliverablesParticipate in peer reviews of software engineering artifactsAssist in the identification and resolution of production issuesEnsure the team is adhering to development standards and securitypolicies and proceduresAbout You

  You have:

  7+ years of professional software development experienceExperience with Full Stack development using React, Node.jsandPythonExperience developing application on AWS cloud platformExperience with database technologies (DynamoDB, and/or SQL Server,Redshift, PostgreSQL)Strong knowledge of building API\'s or other back-end servicesinPythonExcellent communication, and problem-solving skillsAn enthusiasm for innovating and learning new technologiesDeep familiarity of Agile/Scrum iterative development environmentHands-on experience to independently deliver high-quality codeA bachelor\'s degree in computer science, Engineering, or relatedwork experienceYou are authorized to work in the United States of AmericaAdditional nice-to-have\'s:

  Experience with creating quick proof-of-concept (POC) trials bytrying out different approaches to find the best solutionExperience with version control using Git, Dev Ops for testautomation, and experience provisioning and managing Cloudinfrastructure as code using AWS Cloud Formation, and/or AWS CloudDevelopment Kit (CDK)About Our Process
