Purpose:
The Senior Financial Analyst, Sales Reporting is responsible for reporting and analysis for the organic growth channels of Athene (Retail, Reinsurance, Funding Agreements and Pension Group Annuities), including actual to plan/forecast variance analysis, messaging and assistance in providing recommendations to Athene’s leadership team which will enhance sales results.
Accountabilities:
Prepare actual to plan/forecast analysis, benchmarking and sales results messaging for Athene Holding Company
Prepares quarterly analysis used for financial closes, including partnering with Apollo Investor Relations
Supports internal and external reporting requirements related to organic growth channels for Board of Directors, Rating Agency and other executive presentations
Assists in providing management with recommendations to enhance sales results based on in-depth analysis
Understands key drivers of performance and tracks, analyzes and reports management information that is predictive and actionable
Supports daily/weekly/monthly retail sales reporting
Support adhoc Retail sales reporting requests from Sales, Actuary, Risk, Ops, etc. as well as external distribution requests
Assists in Retail commission reporting and distributor profitability analysis
Leads, manages and/or assists with various special projects as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or an equivalent of education and experience required
5+ years of increasingly responsible financial planning and analysis experience; preference to candidates who also have experience in the annuity business
Experience using technical knowledge to make recommendations and influence others to develop solutions for implementation
Advanced knowledge of Excel required (e.g. advanced formulas, lookups and index abilities)
Experience with Business Objects preferred
CPA preferred
Knowledge of GAAP and Statutory financial accounting regulations a plus
