Job Overview
The Sr. Finance Manager is an essential role responsible for maintaining timely and accurate accounting systems for the Cambrex High Point site and driving efforts to meet site financial goals. The role will also support site activities including budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis as needed. This role will support the Site Controller and senior leadership at the plant.
Responsibilities
Perform margin analysis on existing contracts as well as new proposals to i) measure progress against the pricing policy ii) analyze pricing trends relative to win/loss rates.
Participates in annual budgeting process and provides monthly versus budget comparison reporting.
Identify and coordinate implementation of site cost savings initiatives and opportunities.
Participates in monthly forecasting activities.
Generates monthly reporting package detailing actuals versus budget versus forecast.
Generates monthly cash flow statement and assists in collections from clients.
Maintain the Project Systems module in SAP for Capital Projects and Custom Development manufacturing projects to ensure accurate accounting of project costs.
Monitor financial performance of CD projects and investigate variances from plan.
Track status of CD contract deliverables and coordinate billing to customers.
Maintain standard costs for all production components and standard product costs.
Perform monthly review and analysis of production variances.
Identify and communicate product cost drivers.
Participates in vendor sourcing negotiations.
Monitor and report on Capital spending to ensure projects stay within approved budget.
Manage accounting for fixed assets and coordinate annual fixed asset inventory review.
Perform month-end close of the Project Systems module, prepare journal entries for adjustments and accruals, prepare account reconciliations, and analyze results.
Assist with internal and external audits, tax reporting and Corporate requests as assigned.
Maintain compliance with relevant Site and Corporate policies and procedures.
Support the Controller in identifying opportunities to continuously improve the Cost Accounting process and procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in managing tasks to full, timely completion.
Solid knowledge of GAAP accounting and Internal Controls, with working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition requirements
Proficient computer skills on a Microsoft platform and Office suite, including advanced Excel skills
Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with senior management
An action-oriented, positive, problem-solving approach
Experience with ERP system (SAP preferred) and financial systems such as Hyperion (preferred)
Experience in a manufacturing environment (required)
Education, Experience & Licensing Requirements
MBA, CPA, or advance accounting degree required w/ supporting undergaduate degree in quantitatively oriented field such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics or Business
15+ years of accounting experience, including budget/forecast and cost accounting responsibilities in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver quality work under strict timelines.
