　　About the Role:

　　We are seeking a cloud infrastructure leader to drive our critical Cloud Architecture and Reliability engineering team against a large and ambitious roadmap. As Confluent grows and requires increasingly complex architecture, the Cloud Architecture and Reliability team is at the center of the conversation, bringing together scalability, efficiency, and resiliency concerns across all of our cloud pillars to ensure the best customer experience on our streaming data platform. The deeply-experienced team is responsible for not only setting critical directions, but also centralizing core components of our resiliency story for others to build from. You will be responsible for further defining the vision, growing and coaching the team, and planning and driving cross-team efforts to solve complex distributed system challenges at scale.

　　What You Will Do:

　　Own the overall vision and execution for the Cloud Architecture and Reliability team

　　Work closely with product management, engineering leadership, and other key stakeholders across various teams in Confluent and Confluent Cloud to build and drive the overall roadmap

　　Deliver high impact to the business by driving important technical initiatives in areas comprising (but not limited to) security, reliability, multi-tenancy, architectural direction, and major component refactor across organizational boundaries

　　Work with engineering teams and product on critical aspects of product definition, architectural design, and delivery

　　Influence the overall domain health and operational hygiene for the Cloud Platform

　　What You Will Bring:

　　1 0+ years of experience in software development and 5+ years in management

　　Experience designing resilient systems at scale, in the three major CSPs (AWS, Azure, GCP), with a proven track record of “seeing around corners” to reduce complexity and create critical enduring technical foundations

　　Ability to influence the team, peers, and upper management using effective communication and collaborative techniques

　　Ability to hire while ensuring a high hiring bar, keep engineers motivated, coach/mentor, and handle performance management

　　A great track record of timely shipping features and have a sense of urgency, an aggressive mindset towards achieving results, and excellent prioritization skills

　　Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent

This position has an annual estimated salary of 215,190 - 231,210 USD, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package.
