The Senior Service Design Engineer position is responsible for ensuring on-time delivery of service product features and design, technical publications, training, global parts availability, and service process validation. The position provides exposure to the entire system and requires communication with all functions in the organization and will be involved in the full life cycle of the product from definition to verification/validation and installed base support.

Job Description
Duties include (but are not limited to):
Defining procedures for pre-installation, installation, field modifications, calibrations, and part replacements
Owning product and subsystem requirements related to serviceability and diagnosis.
Setting FRU strategies and interfacing with external organizations such as GPRS and Service Operations
Lead service cost down opportunity and related project execution.
Maintaining effective quality systems compliant with GE Quality policies and Six Sigma standards
Quality Specific Goals:
Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.
Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
Ensure compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Outputs/Program Deliverables
Lead continuous improvement activities by driving the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering or related field.
5 years relative work experience
Demonstrated technical domain knowledge by being current on engineering design principles, architectures and advancements in clinical and engineering concepts and technologies.
Demonstrated problem-solving techniques.
Demonstrated ability to make recommendations to technical and program leadership to improve the product, process, or technology.
Effective communication skills and boundaryless behavior—ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.
Demonstrated organizational, functional, and leadership expertise to lead a small team on a project, sub-system or platform initiative.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a Service or Systems Engineering team.
Experience in vascular system service or service design.
Strong analytical, trouble-shooting skills Customer orientation: self-motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently and learn quickly.
Customer focused: strong interpersonal skills, ability to listen to customer, build relationships, and work under pressure.
Hands-on approach with regards to installations, upgrades, and repairs
General project leadership skills
Design for Reliability (DFR) or Design for Service (DFS) experience
